NYU African Gyil and Percussion Ensemble

The NYU African Gyil and Percussion Ensemble, now in their fifth year, is an exciting project combining solos from each member of the ensemble on the continent’s most complicated solo/chamber instrument (Ghana, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast), with four world class West African song/drumming/dances (Ghana, Guinea), gyil ensemble works, and shekere/voice (Nigeria/Brazil) – all in the space of a single hour, and hopefully with your participation before it is finished. You are most heartily welcome to join the celebration!
