Wenda Kanawa is a level 1 piece.
Tuneful, in A major and in 5/4. A good piece for the first- time marimbist/singer.
Wenda Kanawa in 5/4 good first song for a singer/marimbist. Alternating sung motif over a repeating marimba line and marimba interlude with the ostinato in the right hand, and the melody in the left hand, evocative and healing in nature. This is arranged for two players, both of whom sing, but can be done nicely with the addition of two clave players (with the part outlined in the performance notes) or by any sized group of informed, improvising hand clappers.
